SUMMARY

Would you like to work for a company where you can make an impact on the bottom line?  We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team.  The Sr. Analyst is primarily focused on DMPPR (Distribution, Merchandising, Pricing, Promotion, and Replenishment) opportunities through the provisions of technical analysis and fact based selling to deliver against company objectives for retail hardware accounts.  This individual will be responsible for assisting in the development of sales presentations, business reviews, and day to day account/inventory analysis.  In addition, this individual will work on projects and have direct interactions with clients.  This position will require significant cross functional interaction with team members to deliver common goals and objectives.  The physical location of this position will be onsite at a Retail Hardware Corporate office located in Eau Claire.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Develop meaningful sales and consumption reports utilizing accounts POS

 

Monitor progress on share/sales/profits and help manage the flow of tracking new items, special packs, forecast management, and provide "trouble-shooting" for the Account Management team

 

Link data between systems

 

Manage Demand Chain Management (DMC) to obtain and maintain optimal inventory levels and turns

 

Prepare sales forecasts and collect and analyze data to evaluate current sales goals

 

Research and evaluate current economic conditions that may affect the organization's ability to sell its products or services in the marketplace

 

Assist in the development of sales quotas and forecasts for the sales team

 

Present analysis and recommendations to customers

 

Recommend changes to current sales techniques, procedures, or promotional efforts based on market research and new trends

 

Particpate in monthly store visits to ensure use of inventory best practices and identify and solve inventory issues within store sites

 

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and 3 to 5 years of analyst experience is preferred; significant related experience will be considered in lieu of degree.  Background in projects and data management preferred.  Experience with customer management and contact.  3 plus years Consumer Package Goods experience preferred. 

 

TECHNOLOGY SKILL BASE

This position requires a working knowledge of computer technology that includes: Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.  Individuals must possess the ability to learn and understand new software and other technology applications as introduced by the Client and Alta Resources.

Summary:

Job Description: The Sr. Analyst Strategic Planning is responsible for supporting SPG analysis activities for Guitar Center enterprise wide. This individual is accountable for making strategic and tactical recommendations and providing analysis that improves profitability. S/he is the analytical and technical lead who designs the analysis and performs or delegates the programming or data mining required to fulfill the internal client’s requirements. As a strategic thinker, s/he then interprets the analysis into meaningful, actionable recommendations. Responsibilities: Include but are not limited to:
·         Support all Strategic Planning data analysis activities. This includes all types of analysis -- merchandising, product placement, promotional, pricing, design, etc.
·         Serve as the point of contact to the business unit for data, or process definition requests related to Guitar Center enterprise wide.
·         Combine advanced statistical techniques, direct business experience and computer programming skills to analyze business problems, create solutions and make clear business recommendations to senior management.
·         Identify key opportunities through analysis to grow the business.
·         Support initiatives that benefit the retail, eCommerce, and rental businesses. These initiatives can include developing business strategies, technical designs, or application development for a number of business functions including: CRM, promotions, merchandising, or store operations.
·         Understand the nuances of the individual business unit data and data structures. Apply that knowledge to engage in analytics encompassing all brands.
·         Meet with all levels of business personnel to understand the issues and opportunities related to specific business challenges; translate input into meaningful analysis, present the analysis with recommendations to all levels of management including senior executives.
·         Apply statistical techniques to enhance or drive key analytical decisions.
·         Streamline existing processes and create new ones to provide standardized accurate analyses and reporting.
·         Using a variety of programming languages and tools, manipulate the data to perform the needed analytics.
·         Identify data changes that would be instrumental in improving Guitar Center’s ability to perform critical analyses.

This Project Manager role will be working with the Marketing Innovation team to help lead the development and commercialization of new products and bring them to market. Report to Director of Innovation.

Must be able to work in a dynamic and rapidly evolving environment supporting multiple (3-5) projects from Initiation through Closeout / launch stages. Conduct project "kick-off" meetings to establish a development plan that will include project scope, activities/timings, and an assignment of team member responsibilities. Communicate status of schedules, open issues, and project risks/mitigation plans. Qualifications

The selected candidate will have relevant post-high school certificate with emphasis in Production Control and at least 5 years of experience in a production planning and MRP environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 1 year experience working with an automated production/material control system and experience in an electronic manufacturing environment preferred.

Also the selected candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; must understand production flow and be able to develop work-around scheduling problems; must be skilled in managing a fair work load and obtaining results, taking on additional responsibility, managing priorities, and developing work procedures;
must have knowledge of appropriate software applications and effectively use specialty software; must be able to operate in a team environment and communicate with various levels within the organization.
